Bargain makeup

Expensive makeup can be such fun to use with its lovely packaging and they’re usually good quality to boot. Two of my favourite brands are Charlotte Tilbury and Tom Ford – very expensive but divine to use. Being a bargain-hunter at heart, however, I love it when I discover a “cheap” product which is as good as or even better than a luxe equivalent.  Here are my favourites:

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet A liquid lipstick that glides on, becomes matte, feels like velvet on the lips and has true staying power.  I think it’s better than the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick and it’s less than half the price!  I like the Personne ne rouge! for a bold red lip and the Nude-ist for a more natural look.

L’Oreal Brow Plumper I actually bought this my mistake, thinking I’d picked up a brow mascara to help keep my brows in order.  And I’m glad I did!  I never thought my brows needed plumping but somehow, this thing makes my brows look just better and fuller as it promises.

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer Just a very good under-eye concealer which never creases.

Real Techniques makeup brushes Makeup brushes can be so expensive but this comparatively cheaper brand is fab.  I bought mine in TK Maxx.

Liquid eyeliners Catrice Cosmetics Eyeliner waterproof pen and Primark’s (yes, really) Felt Tip Eyeliner are great bargain bucket products.  I’ve been recommended Rimmel’s Exaggerate Eyeliner but that always smudges on me and anyway, pens are so much easier to use.
